Tanzania rapper arrested for insulting President in his new song


Popular Tanzanian rapper, Emmanuel Elibariki, who performs as Ney wa Mitego, has been arrested for releasing a song called deemed insulting to the government. 


The song, Wapo, which has not made it to the radio airwaves yet, emerged last week and was widely shared on social media, especially on Whatsapp.

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has denied owning houses in the Maitama area of Abuja.
Magu was quoted as saying this in a statement by its spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, on Monday.
The statement was in reaction to a report captioned, ‘Magu under fresh probe over two Abuja mansions’ which was published by a national newspaper on Sunday.

The musical Taliban as he is fondly called has also acquired an office space to help strengthen his business chain that includes; Oritsefemi Oil & Gas (OFOG), MSN G Entertainment and Oritsefemi NGO (Feed a Child).

Oritsefemi has also employed a new manager, Miss Karachi Maduforo @theladykara as his personal manager while Danku remains as head of A&R for MSN.

He started from Ajegunle to Festac. He later moved from Ikeja to Lekki phase 1, a few years ago.

Women formed a human chain along Westminster Bridge tonight to remember the victims of the attack on March 22.

Four people were killed when Khalid Masood drove a rented SUV along the pavement, mowing down pedestrians and leaving three with fatal injuries. He then crashed into railings outside the Houses of Parliament, left the vehicle and stabbed PC Keith Palmer to death as he stood on guard.

Stepdad kills 2-year-old girl in anger after he lost computer game


A stepdad killed her 2-year-old stepdaughter by throwing her into a door in frustration because he lost a computer game he was playing. Szymon Brzozowski, 24, threw the toddler at the door's metal frame and she eventually died from "cranio-cerebral injuries".


The toddler, whose name was given as Lilka, did not lose consciousness after the attack but she couldn't eat or drink anything subsequently.

Jealous Father Stabs His Daughters To death After Accusing Wife Of Cheating


A North Carolina father has been charged with the murders of his two daughters a newborn and a toddler after driving into the woods with them in a jealous rage Friday, officials said.

Tillman Freeman, 30, of Fayetteville, had a growing obsession that his wife was cheating on him. So on Friday, he drove their two young children,4-day-old Genesis Freeman and her 2-year-old sister, Serenity,  to a secluded spot in the woods in Hoke County and stabbed them to death, authorities said.

Fetty Wap and his associates were involved in an altercation in his hometown of Paterson, NJ early Sunday morning (March 26). According to Paterson Police, Fetty Wap and a group of his friends were at a deli on Montclair Avenue in South Paterson at 5 am. 

Fetty's group were involved in some sort of dispute and robbery. Three people were shot during the altercation and were taken to the hospital where they are expected to pull through. Fetty Wap was not injured during the altercation. His associates are not being charged with the shooting.

An aide to the President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki has accused the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of dragging the name of the Senate President in the mud by issuing false statements against him.

Saraki has however denied any involvement in the Paris Club Refund as alleged by the EFCC.

In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu on Sunday, the lawmaker stressed he has no business with the refund as alleged. Olaniyonu stressed that the allegations against Saraki were false and baseless.

The Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff has revealed plans to investigate how over N4 trillion was lost due to revenue leakage in the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). The period under review will cover 2006 and 2016.

In the investigation, the Senate committee will look into the tenures of former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan. Also, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government will be probed.

The naira has strengthened below N381 to the dollar, the rate at which BDCs buy International Money Transfer Operators (IMTOS) cash from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Tragedy has stuck at the Moremi Hall of the University of Lagos after a Chemistry Education student, identified simply as Tope, slumped and died at the institution’s medical centre. Sources in UNILAG said the student, who was squatting in the hostel, died shortly after returning from an outing with a man. They added that Tope could have been saved if she was promptly attended to at the centre. One of them said:

A team of scientists and restorers have completed the restoration of Jesus tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, at a cost of $4million. The renovation work which was held up for more than 200 years, took nine months to be completed. Olaitan Shofolahan, 37, a man arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for impersonating officials of the Lagos State Land Use Charge has blamed unemployment as the cause of his action.

Tragedy struck in Onunwankwo village, Umuhuali community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, as a 29-year-old man, Ifeanyi Nwafor, who was digging the grave of an elderly woman, suddenly slumped an died.

Narrating the incident to newsmen, Mr. Nonso Ekuma, who is a member of the Youth Assembly in the area, disclosed the deceased who is from Azuegu village, participated in all the burial activities of the deceased woman, Madam Alioke Mgbanya, before his death.
