The Nigerian police Force has lost a prolific ex-officer who once commanded the anti-crime agency in Lagos in the past.
A  former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr James Danbaba is dead.

Man slumps in lover’s room in Gwarinpa


A 45-year-old man has slumped and died allegedly after having sexual intercourse with his girlfriend in Gwarinpa. 
Police sources said the incident happened at War College Estate on Sunday. 
A police source said the deceased visited his girlfriend identified only as Bridget at about 10:00a.m. and was preparing to leave after they made love.

Police in West Texas say a robbery suspect is in custody after he was caught snoozing at the scene.
According to Abilene police, Kanyoni Sedekiya, 20, was armed with a gun at his apartment complex early Friday when he argued with his roommate, whom he then bound as he demanded money.

Seven Dangote’s staff, one other docked for N451m theft


Seven staff of Dangote Sugar Refinery and a businessman were on Monday arraigned before a Lagos High Court, Ikeja, for stealing N451 million belonging to the company.
They were arraigned on an eight-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, forgery and presentation of false documents before vacation judge, Justice Sedoten Ogunsanya.

Google fires defender of tech gender gap


Google on Monday fired the author of an internal memo defending the gender-gap in Silicon Valley tech jobs as a matter of biology, according to media reports.
The move, which was not officially confirmed by Google, splashed fuel on a burning controversy about whether “political correctness” at the company was stifling free speech.
Google told AFP that the company “can’t comment on individual employee cases.”

A militant group known as, Niger Delta Volunteers (NDV) has warned Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against coming to Akwa-Ibom.

The militants also told the IPOB leader that Akwa-Ibom belongs to Niger-Delta and not Biafra.

2 quacks arrested for performing surgery on woman


Two suspected quacks, Adetoun Oyebade, a nurse, and Moses Dada, a health assistant — who allegedly performed a surgery on a woman that complained of stomach pains, were yesterday taken before an Ikeja chief magistrate’s court, Lagos.

 The accused, Oyebade, 43, a resident of Fajumo Street, Alakuko, a Lagos suburb, and Dada, 41, who lives in Ifo, Ogun, are facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, operating unregistered clinic, impersonation and performing illegal surgery.

Woman kills wife by shooting her in the face


A woman has been charged with fatally shooting her wife in the face in their New Jersey home, prosecutors and police said Monday.

Engineer Ekene Ani and Nsukka based  businessman has survived an assassination attempt on his life by a gang, claimed to have been hired by his neighbour in the market at Achara road, Nsukka, Enugu.
