Over 150 Nigerian Medical Students Currently Stranded in Dominican Republic After Hurricane Maria


It has been revealed that over 150 Nigerian medical students are stranded in the Dominican Republic after the devastating effect of  hurricane Maria.
 .
According to The Sun News, the students, studying at the All Saints University Medical College, have been left in the cold with no official assistance forthcoming since the hurricane struck on Monday. Many of them are said to have lost virtually all their belongings.

The Commissioner of Police in the FCT, Sadiq Bello, said the Command has arrested three suspects in connection with an illegal firearm fabricating factory in Shenagu village near Zuba, FCT.

The suspects are: Philip John, owner of the factory, Onyegabueze Okpara, supplier of ammunitions and Joseph Bulus, distributor of the arms.

The Police in Ebonyi State have arrested a man, aged 70 in Akpoha, Afikpo North local government area of Ebonyi state for allegedly hypnotising and repeatedly raping a seven-year-old orphan.

The suspect, Simon Alobu, popularly known as Papa Eke was handed over to the police by the Family Law Centre, where the case was first reported by the victim’s relatives.

It was also learnt that the victim moved to her aunt’s home shortly after the death of her parents.

About 250 students carried the train of the two-mile long saree worn by the bride, as she and the groom walked down a main road in the centre of the Kandy.

Curfew imposed in Cameroon Anglophone region after bomb attack


The Governor of the North-West Region of Cameroon has imposed a 24-hour ban on movement of persons in the region ending Friday midnight.

The order imposing the curfew did not state the reason. It follows a bomb attack in the main city Bamenda on Thursday that injured three police officers.

“Movement of persons from one Division to the other in the North-West Region is hereby strictly prohibited for a period of 24 hours,” the Order issued on Thursday by the governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique stated.
