University of Georgia running back Elijah Holyfield was arrested on drugs charges on Monday after being found in possession of marijuana, justice officials said.
Holyfield, the son of former world heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield, was detained early Monday by campus police, records from Athens-Clarke County Jail showed.

The owner of a leading Persian-language satellite entertainment channel was shot dead by unknown individuals in Istanbul along with another man, Turkish media reports said Sunday.
Said Karimian, the owner of the GEM TV Group and a British citizen of Iranian origin, was gunned down late Saturday along with a Kuwaiti business partner in the upscale Maslak district of Istanbul, the Hurriyet newspaper said.
Initial reports on Saturday had said two Iranians had been killed, without giving the identities.

Police arrests former Jigawa governor


The police in Kano on Sunday arrested the immediate past governor of Jigawa, Alhaji Sule Lamido.
A reliable source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano that Lamido was arrested for allegedly inciting his supporters to stop the conduct of state’s upcoming local council polls.
NAN reports that the arrest of Lamido may be connected with a programme aired on one of the Kano local radio stations.

The freight train chugged through Europe and across Asia to reach its destination.
Stuffed with British products, the train took 17 days to reach Yiwu in the east of China.
The route is based on the ancient Silk Road which enabled trade between the Turkish sphere of influence and the Far East.
