The  mentally deranged man who stormed Saint John’s Anglican Primary School, Agodo in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area  on Monday, March 12th and hacked two pupils to death has been nabbed by the police.

EFCC closes case in ex-permanent secretary’s N14.1 million fraud trial


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has closed its case in the trial of Clement Onubuogo, a former Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment at an Ikeja High Court, Lagos.

The EFCC closed its case during Wednesday’s proceedings following the conclusion of the testimony of a fourth prosecution witness.

DPP plays Evans’ confessions video in court


A leg of the trial of suspected kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, continued on Wednesday before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, with the prosecution playing a video which captured Evans’ confessing to kidnapping and armed robbery.

The video clip was played at the request of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Titilayo Shitta-Bey, who led the prosecution team.

Scores escape death as tanker falls on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway


Barely two weeks after a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit popularly known as petrol fell at Owode-Iyana Ilogbo axis along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, another tanker also loaded with the same litres of petrol fell on the road early this morning at Singer Area, Sango-Ota.

The tanker travelling outside Sango-Ota fell at a failed section of the road and crushed a white Hyundai delivery van, which was by its side.

Commissioner warns DPOs against settling rape cases


The Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, Murtala Mani, has warned Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the state against ‘settling’ rape cases and sexual harassment of underaged girls.

Represented by the command’s spokesperson, Cordellia Nwawe, at a news conference in Sokoto on Tuesday, Mr. Mani said rape of underage girls was a crime against the state.
He said such cases could only be resolved in a competent court.

Queens college alumna narrates how money for the containment of diarrhoea was embezzled


Below is a story of how an amount donated by alumnae of Queens College for the containment of diarrhoea in the school was embezzled by one of the alumnae.

There was a diarrhea outbreak last year in the school which rendered some of the students sick. It is reported that the outbreak was caused by the contaminated water sources in the school which contained various forms of E-Coli, and Salmonella, among other dangerous pathogens. The Lagos State Ministry of Health had to shut down the school till the situation was contained.
