A heartbroken Nigerian man, has taken to Instagram to lament about the of his 15-year-old sister in the hands of his Aunt’s husband, while she was holidaying in their home in Yola.

According to Instagram user @iam_ccent, the incident happened the rape victim’s aunt travelled for a church programme. Here’s what he wrote;

At least four dead as cargo plane crashes into sea during thunderstorm in Ivory Coast

At least four people have been killed after a cargo plane crashed off the Ivory Coast during a thunderstorm this morning. The crash, which took place near Abidjan, also injured six others on board, security sources said.

It is believed that there were 10 people on the Antonov aircraft at the time of the incident. French military sources said that a number of French nationals were among the injured. Police commissioner Charlemagne Bleu said: ‘The aircraft failed to land and crashed in the water.

2 Nigerians Nabbed In Bangkok For Romance Scams

Two Nigerian nationals were arrested by The Immigration Bureau (IB) on Thursday, in Bangkok for allegedly running romance scams.

The suspects, Lawrence Osita Nwaenyi, 32, and Peter Stanley Chukwuebuka, 33, were arrested at a condominium in Prawet district.

According to IB acting commissioner Suthipong Wongpin, the duo allegedly used social media and chat programmes to trick unsuspecting women into wiring money to them.

Another $4.2bn Allegedly Went Missing In NNPC Under Buhari

The report by the Natural Resource Governance Institute, titled “NNPC still holds blank check” said that within the first six months of the Buhari administration, the NNPC withheld over $4.2 billion (about N824.7 billion) out of a total of $6.3 billion (N1.24 trillion) revenues realised from crude oil sales in the second half of 2015.

The withheld revenues represented about 66 percent of the total revenue – $1.4 billion earnings from Nigeria’s regular crude oil exports for the period; $3.4 billion from domestic crude oil sales, and $1.5 billion from oil sold from the corporation’s upstream subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, NPDC oil fields.

As controversy trails the call by President Muhammadu Buhari to the World Bank in 2015 to help rebuild the Northeast ravaged by insurgents, Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, yesterday, cleared the air on what Buhari actually said and those present.

Speaking in Maiduguri late Friday night, Shettima said the President merely pleaded with the World Bank to assist Nigeria in rebuilding the six states of the North destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents and and help the victims to be reintegrated into normal life and never made any selfish or sectional request to the bank to focus its development on the North to the detriment of other parts of the country.

Ghana bans construction of new petrol stations

The Ghanaian government has ordered for an immediate ban to the construction of fuel stations after a fire killed seven people last week.

On Thursday, October 12, 2017 President Nana Akufo Addo outlined measures to stop explosions at petrol and gas stations.  Twenty fuel stations have already been closed this week and Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority plans to recruit 200 auditors to check fuel stations’ safety standards.

Police gets warrant of arrest over Edo former speaker

The controversy over official vehicles converted by former Deputy Speaker, Edo House of Assembly, Elizabeth Ativie continued yesterday as the state police got a warrant of arrest from the Benin High Court to effect her arrest over her refusal to return a Lexus Jeep belonging to the House in her possession.

Currently on suspension, Ativie has returned three out of the four vehicles in her possession and promised to return the remaining one which according to her she already sold.
