Man jailed for 7 years for posing as a 'spirit' to defraud man of N20m


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today November 6th, 2017 secured the conviction of one Mohammed Yusuf before Justice Zainab Bage Abubakar of the Federal High Court, Gusau, Zamfara State.

The convict was sentenced to 7 years' imprisonment on each of the eleven count charge preferred against him by the EFCC.

Nigerian Police return ₦834,000 extorted from public, sanction 17 officers


The Nigerian Police returned  ₦834,000 extorted by its officers from members of the public to the owners between July and September.

The force also sanctioned 17 police officers, including the suspension of an Assistant Superintendent of Police in Ikorodu, Lagos State, during the period for “corrupt practices”.

Security guard arrested for abduction of Lebanese boss


The Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele Police Headquarters, Ibadan, has arrested four men, alleged to be part of a kidnapping syndicate that abducted a Lebanese man in September.

The four suspects have been identified as Monday Omubge (28), who is said to be the armourer of the gang, Mathew Egbulu (23), Samuel Agu (32), and Joseph Udoma (35).
