Young Kenyan woman commits suicide after failed attempts to find justice for her 3-year-old daughter who was raped by ex-boyfriend

Brenda Akinyi Waru committed suicide after she was bullied online as she tried to find justice for her three-year-old daughter who was allegedly defiled by her ex boyfriend.

According to Facebook user Syombua Kibue, who shared the story online, the 29-year-old had reported the case at a police station and had slept with a police officer who requested for sex in exchange for help.

Veteran actor, Saidi Balogun recently clocked 50 and he planned a 4-day celebration starting from today May 22 till May 25, 2017.

He has now postponed the celebrations till July 4, 2017 in honour of his three colleagues who recently died. In his words;

Man sentenced to jail for stealing N7,000 cell phone

A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Monday sentenced a 32-year-old man, Kelechi Sunday, to two months imprisonment for stealing a cell phone worth N7,000.

The judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced the convict accordingly as he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Sadiq also ordered the convict to pay N7,000 as compensation to the complainant.

Moyes resigns as Sunderland manager following relegation

David Moyes has resigned as Sunderland manager after one season, the club announced on Monday.

Sunderland finished bottom of the Premier League table with just 24 points after only six wins this campaign, and Moyes has now confirmed he will not stay with the team in the Championship next season.

Flynn, a key target in the explosive probe into links between Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 election, “will be asserting his rights under the Fifth Amendment,” the source told AFP.

The police in Niger State say they are investigating a case of suicide by one Halima Kabiru, who allegedly drank poison after arguing with her husband in the Afita Mama Pandogari area, Kagara Council of the state.

It was learnt that the woman was rushed to a hospital for medical attention, but later died.

According to the husband, Musa Kabiru, he and his wife had quarreled sometime last week, after which she rushed into the house and drank poison.

A father has been exposed and jailed for raping his daughter regularly for 20 years after she released a recording of him boasting about his actions. He was charged with five counts of rape which he initially denied but he was eventually convicted and sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Cholera outbreak claims 315 lives in Yemen

A cholera outbreak in war-ravaged Yemen has killed 315 people since April 27, the UN World Health Organization (WHO) said on Sunday.

The cholera infection is continuing to spread across Yemen with more than 29,300 suspected cases reported in 19 of the country’s 22 provinces, the agency added in a tweet.
