Former Manchester United player, Paul Parker has launched a blistering Manchester derby attack on Paul Pogba claiming his obsession with haircuts has made him a football joke. Parker reckons Pogba’s not in the same league as Manchester City rival Kevin de Bruyne who does his talking with a football – not his hair.

Parker’s brutal put-down of Manchester United ‘s £89million midfielder come just three days before the derby at The Etihad where a win over their cross-town rivals will clinch the Premier League title for Pep Guardiola’s super-charged City stars.

Zambia has withdrawn military personnel deployed in December to help clean up the capital and other cities at the height of a cholera outbreak that has killed more than 80 people in seven months, the government said on Wednesday.

President Edgar Lungu directed the military to help fight the spread of cholera under emergency measures to contain the waterborne disease, including the closure of markets.

An Ekiti State High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has sentenced a man, Raji Babatunde, to death by hanging for stealing seven bottles of beer and one packet of Rothmans cigarette.

Justice Cornelius Akintayo, in a judgment delivered on Wednesday, found Babatunde guilty of armed robbery for being in possession of axe and cutlass at the scene of the robbery.

A bricklayer has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly breaking into a man’s house and robbed him of N206,000 with a toy gun.

The man identified as Taiwo 20, was arraigned before the magistrate, Mrs F.F. George, on five counts of conspiracy, burglary, stealing, robbery and assault.

Nigerian Army denies beating 27-year-old man to death in Taraba

The Nigerian Army has denied media reports that its officers in Taraba state beat a 27 year old man, Yusuf Haruna, to death in Mbanga,Sardauna local government area of the state recently. The Army says the man who is a known criminal in his community died after he escaped from their custody. Read the statement below

President Buhari cancels FEC meeting, to meet with service chiefs

President Buhari has cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting scheduled for today April 4th.

The council meeting usually holds on Wednesdays. Instead of the meeting, President Buhari will be meeting with all the service chiefs. The reason the president is meeting with the service chiefs is not yet known.

Kabiru Seidu (a.k.a Osama), Nuhu Salisu (a.k.a Small), Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed who were under detention at the ‘A’ Division Lokoja allegedly escaped from lawful custodyhours before they were due to be arraigned in court in Lokoja, the state capital.

Two women lost their lives in an accident involving the convoy of the wife of Abia Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu on Tuesday. Reports have it that one of the deceased was Nwamaka Maduchukwu, the media aide to Mrs. Ikpeazu.
The other woman was identified as Mrs Promise Uche-Nwamkpa, wife of a former member of the Abia State House of Assembly.

Maduchukwu was a senior special assistant on media to Mrs. Ikpeazu.

Facebook under fire for rejecting ad showing Jesus crucified to the cross Lailasnews

A Catholic university in Ohio is not happy Facebook rejected an ad depicting the crucifixion of Jesus saying the image of Christ hung to the cross was ‘shocking and violent’.

Franciscan University, in Steubenville, said it had recently posted several ads on Facebook to promote its online theology program but one ad was rejected by the social networking site because its content was ‘shocking, sensational, and excessively violent’.

When the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) published a list of 135 individuals suspected of looting public treasury in 2007, Lai Mohammed and Garba Shehu roundly condemned the action, with Mr Mohammed describing it as “illegal and a reckless abuse of power” because it was aimed at muzzling opposition.

18-year-old Secondary school student who disguises?in military outfit has been arrested for armed robbery in Benue State

Atoo Aondoana, a Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2, student, has been held by the Police in Benue State for his alleged involvement in armed robbery along Makurdi-Alaide highway of the state.

Aondoana alongside his accomplice, an elderly cleaner who works with the Nigeria Airforce in Makurdi, Peter Aghande, who is being held for supplying the military uniforms used for the robbery are currently helping the police with further information about their illegal activities.

Pastor kills his lover, cuts off her head and hands and buries her remains inside his church in Ogun

The Ogun police command has arrested a pastor who allegedly killed his female lover and buried her body inside his church. The brother of the deceased, 35 year old Raliat Sanni, Adebola Saheed, had gone to the police to lodge a complaint after she left the house on March 21st and did not return.

After much investigation by the police, it was discovered that her last contact was with the pastor.
