A judge set bail today at $1 million for a pregnant woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend at their Southwest Side home after they fought because the man didn’t’ buy anything for her at a shopping mall.
Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil set the bail for Miata Phelan, 24, of the 6800 block of South Talman Avenue, who is charged with first-degree murder.

NSCDC Rescues Man Accused Of Stealing Goats From Mob

Officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operating in Jigawa State, on Wednesday said it rescued a 35-year-old man (nameswithheld) accused of stealing 11 goats from being lynched by angry mob. Muhammad Gidado, the agency’s state commandant, who made this known to journalists in Dutse, said that the suspect has been arrested and detained pending investigation.
