My Husband Denied Me Of Sex For 2-Years - Wife Seeks Divorce From Court

A 30-year-old house wife, Bilkisu Lawal, on Wednesday told a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court, that her husband, Shuaibu Yusuf, had denied her sex for two years.

Bilkisu, who is seeking for divorce, narrated how Yusuf had not been performing his duty as a husband.

She told the court that she married her husband in January 2012, according to Islamic rites and the marriage blessed with a son.

UN alarmed by Burundi militia chants to 'impregnate or kill' opponents

The United Nations has raised alarm over chants by the youth wing of Burundi’s ruling party CNDD-FDD calling for opponents to be impregnated or killed.

The chants captured on video and circulating on social media shows over a hundred young men from the Imbonerakure militia at a rally in the Ntega commune of the Kirundo province in northeast Burundi repeatedly chanting “make opponents pregnant so that they can give birth to Imbonerakure”.

The Department of Corrections said the 27-year-old was found hanged in his cell just after 3am local time on Wednesday morning.

Google plans to train 6,000 media professionals – official

West Africa Google says it plans to equip more than 6,000 media professionals in the region on the appropriate use of Google tools in 2017.

Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, the Head of Communications of West Africa Google made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Wednesday.

He said that Google had already trained more than 300 media professionals in West Africa in the first quarter of the year.

Justice Ngwuta failed to declare 28 plots of land – Fed govt

The Federal Government said Justice Sylvester Ngwuta of the Supreme Court failed to declare 28 plots of land to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) between June 2, 2011 and July 19, 2016.

In a 10- count charge filed before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, government through the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) further alleged that Justice Ngwuta, also engaged in the purchase and sale of rice, palm oil and other related products, while being a Justice of the Supreme Court, within the same period.

President Buhari suspends SGF, Babachir Lawal, DG, NIA

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered an investigation into the allegations of violations of law and due process made against the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr David Babachir Lawal, in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).

The President has also directed the suspension of the SGF from office pending the outcome of the investigations.

Senate President Bukola Saraki has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), is poorly managing the controversy surrounding the $43million recovered from an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Saraki, speaking on Arise News Network, stated that the anti-graft agency had a duty to inform Nigerians who the money belonged to.

Senator Ajuji Waziri is said to have lost the battle on Easter Monday after a brief illness.

Meningitis vaccines go missing in Zamfara

Two officials of Bungudu local council in Zamfara have been ordered to produce the missing meningitis vaccines allocated to the area or be sanctioned.

Egypt policeman dies in gunmen attack near Sinai monastery

Egyptian officials say gunmen opened fire on a police checkpoint near the famed Saint Catherine’s Monastery in Sinai, killing one policeman and wounding four.

Security and medical officials say the policemen were manning the checkpoint outside the monastery in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula when the attack took place on Tuesday night.

A Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, has issued a directive that Emirates Airline, alongside four airport officials should open their defence on June 21 in the $1.63 million theft charge instituted against them by the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).

Trial judge, Mohammed Idris, arrived at the decision after throwing out the no-case submission filed by Emirates Airline and the said airport officials. Aside Emirates, the affected airport officials are; Abayomi Abiola, Isiaka Adedeji, Awonubi Abayomi and George Ikpekhia.

US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) confirmed Tuesday that two Russian TU-95 bombers were intercepted off the coast of Alaska on Monday evening.

According to a US official, the bombers were found 100 nautical miles south of Kodiak Island.

The Russian aircraft were in international airspace throughout the encounter as American airspace extends 12 nautical miles from the US shoreline.
