14-year-old SS2 student commits suicide, because he failed and had to repeat


A Nigeria Twitter user, @ladeclef has taken to the platform to disclose how a 14-year-old SS2 student reportedly committed suicide by taking sniper.

According to @ladeclef, her sister in SS2, told her that the boy in her set committed suicide because he failed and had to repeat. Here’s her tweet;

Nnamdi Kanu's Sureties Won't Lose N300 Million Bond - IPOB Lawyer, Ejiofor


The legal representative of the Indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB), Mr Ifeanyi Ejiofor has advised the sureties who signed the bail bond of the now missing leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu, not to worry as they won't be held liable.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Ejiofor, who has also petitioned the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, to produce Kanu in court dead or alive, added that only the court of law can determine if Kanu flouted his bail conditions or not.

Lagos State Governmet arraigns woman who set 10-year old on fire


News broke yesterday about a woman who set a 10-year old boy o fire for losing a cloth she got for him.

The Lagos State Government has arraigned the woman, identified as Gift Igwe.
According to Punch, the 10-year old identified simply as Chimobi was reportedly rescued by residents of the community, after his cries for help was heard. The boy was rushed to the hospital immediately.

A Plateau State High Court on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old man, Ponjul Yakubu, to death by hanging, for shooting his father to death.

Justice A.I. Ashoms gave the sentence after he found Yakubu guilty of a one-count charge of culpable homicide, punishable with death under section 221 of the Penal Code.

A British climber was killed and his wife seriously injured living their 'big dream' on one of the toughest rock faces in the world.
Andrew Foster, 32, and his wife Lucy Foster, 28, from Cardiff, were crushed under tons of falling rock as they prepared for their climb at Yosemite's El Capitan in California.
Experienced climber, Andrew, was killed, but Lucy was rescued and airlifted to hospital where she is in a 'critical' condition.
Andrew died when a piece of granite measuring 131ft x 65ft tore away from the famous rock formation at 1.55pm on Wednesday. They had not yet begun climbing when he became completely buried by the shattered rock, which rained down on the base.

Untreatable ‘super malaria’ spreads across southeast Asia


Scientists have raised fresh alert to the rapid spread of ‘super malaria’ in South East Asia, which they say pose a global threat to efforts to eliminate the mosquito-borne disease.
They fear that this dangerous form of the malaria parasite has become untreatable with the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommended drug-of-choice, Artemisinin-based Combination Therapy (ACT).

The researchers from the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit in Bangkok in their study published in The Lancet Infectious warned that the menace is spreading. It emerged in Cambodia but has since spread through parts of Thailand, Laos and has arrived in southern Vietnam.
