According to Punch, a Lagos magistrate, Mrs. Funke Sule-Amzat, has been accused of abuse of power for allegedly sending a mother of three, Yetunde  Osijo, to the Kirikiri Prison. But the Lagos State Government defended the magistrate, saying Osijo drove in a reckless manner and caused a breach of the peace. It was gathered that Osijo’s car had scratched the magistrate’s Toyota Corrolla on Monday at the Ogudu end of the Oworonshoki Expressway.

Labour Slams Kachikwu For Saying Fuel Scarcity will Linger Till May

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu, stated that the problem of fuel scarcity would still linger till the month of May in spite of the numerous efforts put in place by the Federal Government.
He noted that the problem of long queues in the filling station cannot be solved with a magic wand as he and the members of his team are doing all it takes to bring to an end the fuel crisis.

Nigerian lady jailed 9 years for burning lover's manhood with a hot iron in the UK

A 31-year-old Nigerian woman, Kenya Alozie, has been jailed by a Woolwich Crown Court in the United Kingdom, for allegedly burning her lover's genitals and legs with a hot iron during their sex session, as well as attacking the man with a broken bottle, reports The Standard.

Alozie, was found guilty of the pre-planned attack which took place on May 15, 2015, at a house in Plumstead, south-east London, while she was having sex with the 30-year-old man.

Man kills his 2 children, stabs his wife, then commits suicide

Tsepo Majola, 22 reportedly killed his 2 children Boitumelo, 2 and Tebogo, 5 by slitting their throats, stabbed his wife, then committed suicide in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, South Africa on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Tsepo's body was found at the back of a house in Tembisa on Thursday December 17, 2015 by one of his relatives.

Reports say, Tembisa police department are investigating a case of double murder, attempted murder and suspected suicide. Tsepo's brother, Lucas narrated the ordeal to Tsepo Police department and further said that the family do not understand why he did such a thing.

Women's rights Advocate dies at age 63

News reports have revealed that a front-line Women's right advocate and executive director of Women's Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON), Mrs. Olabisi Olateru-Olagbegi, has reportedly died at the age of 63.

According to sources related to the family, Mrs Olateru-Olagbegi had died after a prolonged battle with cancer.

She finally gave up the ghost today, December 18.

Mrs Olateru-Olagbegi had been a delegate at the 2015 national confab.

Man arraigned for stealing 6 cartons of noodles

One Mr Ebele has allegedly been charged with stealing 6 cartoons of Indomie noodles valued at N7,800. He reportedly stole the noodles from the complainant's shop while she was trying to find 'change' for the accused.

Prosecutor, Inspector Innocent Uko told the court on December 10, 2015 that teh accused stole six cartoons of noodles from one Margaret Adaha's shop which is situated at the Agents complex, Seme Border.

Switzerland publishes a list of 2600 dormant bank accounts worth $44.6 million

A list of 2600 unclaimed dormant bank accounts was made public yesterday Wednesday, December 16, by Swiss Bankers Association which contains over 2,600 accounts and 80 safe deposit boxes.

The total holding in these accounts is estimated at about 44 million Swiss franc ($44.6 million). The online list reveals that Swiss banks currently have around CHF44 million ($44.6 million) of unclaimed assets held in their vaults. In addition, some 80 safe-deposit boxes containing unknown sums of valuables have been listed as dormant.

A dismissed Inspector of Police, Afoke Adetolani, 58, who paraded himself as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), has been apprehended by operatives attached to the X-Squad team of the Lagos State Police Command.

Azealia Banks Arrested for Allegedly Biting Security Guard's Breast

Azealia Banks was reportedly arrested for allegedly assaulting a female security guard on Wednesday (Dec. 16) night. E! News confirmed the news with The New York Police Department, who told the website that the Harlem-born artist was escorted out of club Up&Down in the Meatpacking District "when she became verbally abusive and began to push the victim and bit victim on the breast causing swelling and redness." 

Eyewitnesses tell E! that Banks became agitated after security didn't recognize her when she went down to a enter a private party in the club, which led to an altercation. At one point Azealia allegedly bit the female bouncer on the breast while being led out of the club.

A 55-year-old man, Elder Moses Ajuwa, has told a divorce court that his wife's body odour has made it impossible for him to continue sleeping with her and wanted the court to dissolve his three-year-old marriage to his 30-year-old wife, Hauwa, on that account.

Apart from the smelly body odour, Elder Ajuwa also told the Grade A Customary Court sitting in Lagos State that his wife is also lazy and has failed to fulfil her obligations as a married woman and a disgrace to womanhood.
