$15b deals: I’m ready for trial, says ex-NSA Dasuki

Former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd) has protested his detention for alleged $15billion arms deals facilitated by the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA).

 He says the Federal Government should allow his trial  to begin, The Nation learnt yesterday.

Dasuki is said to have told his associates that he is not disposed to a secret trial.

Cultists hack 11 to death to mark anniversary in Ogun

No fewer than 11 persons have been hacked to death by suspected cult members in Igode and Fakale communities, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Four persons were also injured, while houses and cars were completely razed in the attack that shook the community for about 10 hours.

It was gathered that the hoodlums, said to be Aye Confraternity members, had gone on the rampage at about 11am on Wednesday to commemorate their anniversary tagged 7/7.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) released a statement Thursday evening saying Yanez and another cop, Officer Joseph Kauser, were involved in the Wednesday shooting.

Gunmen abduct Senator in Cross River

Gunmen have abducted Sen. Patrick Ani, a former senator who represented Cross River South on the platform of the defunct National Republican Convention between 1991 and 1992.

Eyewitnesses told journalists in Calabar on Thursday that the former legislator was abducted by the gunmen on Wednesday in his herbal farm in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state.

A student of the Abia State Polytechnic, simply identified as Abel, has killed his landlord in the Immaculate area of Aba, Abia State for interrupting him during love-making.

It was gathered that Abel, a final year student of the Department of Architecture, allegedly stabbed the victim in the stomach during a heated argument at the lodge.

Italian arrested for killing Nigerian, to face murder charges

An Italian football hooligan has been arrested and charged with murder after beating to death a Nigerian asylum seeker who reacted to racial insults against his partner, ANSA news agency reported on Thursday.

According to the La Repubblica newspaper, Emmanuel Chidi Nnamdi, 36, got into a fight on Tuesday after the man called his 24-year-old girlfriend, Chinyere, a “monkey”.

Nnamdi was taken to hospital in a comatose state and declared dead on Wednesday in the central Italian town of Fermo, some 170 kilometres north-east of Rome, near the Adriatic coast.

Nigerian Asylum Seeker Beaten To Death While Defending His Wife In Italy

A Nigerian refugee thought to have fled the terrorist group Boko Haram with his wife has died after being attacked by an “ultra” football fan in a small Italian town.

Emmanuel Chidi Namdi, 36, died of injuries he sustained when a local man, who had reportedly been racially abusing Namdi’s wife, attacked him in the town of Fermo, in central Italy.

Amedeo Mancini, 35, allegedly referred to the 24-year-old woman as a “monkey”, and attacked Namdi when he attempted to defend her, according to Italian media reports. Namdi fell into a coma and was pronounced dead on Wednesday.

Pastor Impregnates 10 Year Old

A youth pastor ,Raymond Vincent, 46 has been arrested for impregnating a 10 year old girl and fleeing to Haiti. Detectives were called to Broward Health Medical Center on Feb. 13 in reference to a sexual battery of a child. The girl was found to be pregnant after having been taken to the hospital with stomach pain, the inquisitr.com reports

 A police report detailed one of Vincent’s encounters with the girl sometime in December or January. The girl told police she was asleep on a couch and was awakened when she felt a hand going down her pants. As she opened her eyes, she saw Vincent hovering over her. He quickly pulled his hand from beneath the blanket, the report said.
