No fewer than five persons were killed in an auto crash Monday night in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The accident occurred at about 7.35pm in front of the main gate of Ekiti State University (EKSU).

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is set to leave sign a one year long loan deal with Turkish giants Besiktas this week with the aim of turning it into a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
 Omeruo, 24, signed for Chelsea in January 2012 from Belgian side Standard Liege and was immediately sent out on loan to Dutch side Ado Den Haag but returned to the UK at the start of the 2013/14 season. Following a season-long loan with Middlesbrough in the English Championship, Omeruo was sent out to Turkish club Kasimpasa at the beginning of the last campaign.

Rivers Police recovers N60m abandoned by bullion van driver

The Rivers state Police Command says it has recovered sixty million naira in cash abandoned by a bullion van driver in Port Harcourt.
Deputy Commissioner of Police incharge of Administration in the Command, Uche Anozia stated this while displaying the wads of cash to newsmen in Port Harcourt.
DCP Anozia said the recovery of the cash was as a result of a complaint from the Bankers Warehouse that a bullion van conveying money from Aba to Port Harcourt had diverted.

A yet-to-be identified child abductor, who confessed to being part of a 27-woman syndicate from Benin Republic, narrowly escaped being lynched yesterday when she was caught at Aka Road, Okokomaiko area of Lagos.
The lady, it was gathered, was usually seen around the area behaving like a lunatic, but became ‘sane’ when she was apprehended yesterday morning trying to abduct a child. Obviously scared for her life when she was caught in the act, the yet-to-be identified lady reportedly began to divulge information of her activities.

Man stabs pregnant woman to death during argument


The police in Kogi State have arrested a man, Hussain Zubairu, for allegedly stabbing his pregnant neighbour, Bose Muhammed, to death.
Zubairu and the pregnant woman lived in the Idogido community of Okene Local Government Area of the state.
He was said to have stabbed the woman in the stomach with a pair of scissors.
She was rushed to a hospital in the area but died on arrival.
We learnt that a friend of the deceased had visited her last Monday when the incident happened.

Final year UNILAG undergraduate dies in hostel

A 500-level undergraduate of the University of Lagos, Odusami Matthew, has died after slumping at the Biobaku Hostel.
According to punch Matthew, a student at the Estate Management Department, was playing football with some of his friends on Friday when he slumped.
He was reportedly rushed to the school’s medical centre where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Our correspondent was told that the remains of the student had been deposited at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
When our correspondent visited the hostel on Monday, one of the residents confirmed that the incident happened around 4pm.
He said, “He stayed in this hostel. Around 4pm, he decided to play football with some of his friends. He was not tackled neither was he with the ball when he collapsed.
“Nobody understood what went wrong with him. He was rushed to the medical centre, but he died on the way. It’s really a shock to us.”

Assemblies Of God Church Leadership Tussle Gets Messier, 20 Inured, Two Houses Burnt
