Sol Campbell has urged Arsenal to do everything within their power to keep Alexis Sanchez and is not convinced a transfer to Chelsea would be the right career move for the Chile international.

Sanchez’s contract with Arsenal is due to expire in June 2018 and talks over a new deal were put on hold until the end of the season after both parties failed to reach an agreement over a renewal.

Navy Admiral Found Dead In His Lagos Home

The Fleet Commander, Western Naval Command (WNC) Rear Admiral Daniel Ikoli was Wednesday found dead at his Apapa, Lagos residence.

Ikoli, who was Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT and later appointed into the presidential committee on the probe of arms deal, was said to have been found in a pool of his blood.

Coach, 2 Players Arrested For Losing 12-0 To Barcelona

Spanish police investigating match-fixing said on Tuesday that they have detained the coach of a third-division club who lost 12-0 against Barcelona’s B team over the weekend.

The Eldense coach Filippo Vito di Pierro, who is Italian, was detained on Monday in the small eastern city of Elda.

Fire engulfs Kano International Airport

Fire on Wednesday morning engulfed the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano state. The report says a mysterious fire gutted the airport's fuel drop.

The fuel drop is located few distance from the domestic arrival hall adjacent a vast space that houses corner shops. An eyewitness named Hajiya Bintu said the fire started around 7.45am and forced dwellers to flee the area.

She said:”The fire has raged for twenty minutes now and as I speak to you fire service personnel have deployed enough tanks to contain the emergency.”

EFCC arraigns ex-Kwara Hotel boss for N277 million fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, arraigned a former Kwara Hotel boss, Mohammad Gobir, alongside Mondial Defense Systems Limited before Justice J.E. Oyefeso of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on a five-count-charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and forgery to the tune of N277 million.

The accused allegedly converted the money meant for the purchase of security bands for Kwara State government to personal use.

Pension Scam: I Made $544,000 Selling Pure Water — Defendant

The fourth defendant in the ongoing N24 billion police pension scam trial, Veronica Onyegbula, told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that she made $544,000 from sales of pure water, an FCT High Court heard.

An operative of the EFCC, Rukayya Ibrahim revealed this yesterday while giving evidence in the trial within trial requested by counsel to Onyegbula, Barrister Ernest Ikeji.

EFCC takes over Five Suspected Oil Thieves from NNS

Five suspected oil thieves are currently undergoing investigation at the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for dealing in petroleum products suspected to be Automated Gas Oil (AGO).

The suspects, Jeffery Adaboke, Ayebaene Kalango, Prince Legbosi, Tega Adade, Ifeanyi Silvanus were arrested by officers of NNS PATHFINDER Naval Base Port Harcourt, Rivers State on 1st of April, 2017 around Isaka axis onboad Tug Boat PK111 and a metal barge laden with products suspected to be AGO.

40 Nigerians Deported From Italy Land In Lagos

The Italian government on Tuesday deported 40 Nigerians for immigration and criminal offences.

The deportees, comprising males and females arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at about 8:25pm aboard an Air Meridiana aircraft with registration number E1-FNU.
