We are hungry because we’re lazy – Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar says there is hunger in the land because people are lazy.

“The chairman, Shura committee talk about hunger in the land but let me make it clear that we are hungry because we are lazy,” he stated.

He was responding to the remarks of the chairman of the Shura committee of the National Islamic Centre, Ahmad Bello who said that there is extreme hunger in the land at the 22rd annual Ummah Convention held in Sokoto.

A fashion designer, Makanjuola Samuel, has pleaded with an Orile-Agege Customary Court sitting in Lagos State, to dissolve his 10-year-old marriage to his wife, Abosede, on account of her alleged adultery.

He said, “I was called on the phone that my wife was in an apartment with a man and when I got there, I met her sitting on the bed wearing only her blouse and the man wore only boxer shorts sitting opposite my wife. I walked out when I saw them.”

A man suspected to be a security guard at Nnewi Diocese of the Anglican Church has been arrested by the police for being in possession of human parts.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Sam Okaula, described him as a cannibal.

Four armed robbery suspects have snatched a Toyota Corolla car belonging to an Information Technology worker, Adetoun Fashanu, along Dutse bus-stop, Kubwa-Zuba Expressway, Abuja.

Pharmacists Council shuts down 264 drug outlets in Enugu

The Pharmacists Council of Nigeria has sealed about 264 medicine stores in Enugu, Enugu State.

The outlets that were closed include 52 pharmacy shops and 212 patent medicine stores.

Director, Inspection and Monitoring Department of PCN, Mrs. Anthonia Aruya, who disclosed this at a press briefing in Enugu, said the concerned outlets were sealed for failing to comply with the stipulated standards required for dispensing drugs to members of the public.
