A Nigerian man of God based in Salzburg, Austria, who thought he was doing his homeless country a world of favour by accommodating him, is now in pains after the man absconded with his money running into €6, 500, according to a report by Pulse.

 

Pulse reported that the thief identified as Taiwo Abayomi had approached the fellow Nigerian Pastor, claiming he was a born again Christian who was stranded and had nowhere to stay.

A sex worker, who gave her identity as Hilda Davids, alleged to have taken the nude photographs of her customer, also identified as Ofoegwu, after bouts of sex at a hotel, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos state.

27-year-old Davids, who lives in Ikeja, was arraigned on a two-count charge of intent to extort by blackmail and to steal.

The prostitute, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Appeals Court voids Orubebe’s conviction, overrules conduct tribunal

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, nullified the decision of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, which found former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe, guilty of allegation that he falsely declared his assets in 2007.

In a unanimous judgement, a three-man panel of Justices of the appellate court led by Justice Mohammed Abdul Aboki, voided Orubebe’s conviction on the premise that the CCT verdict occasioned a miscarriage of justice against him.
