A Second Republic lawmaker, Dr Junaid Mohammed, has alleged that Igbos are using the agitation for Biafra to blackmail the North into ceding the 2019 presidency to them.

A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday ordered the Police to produce in court, Okwuchukwu Obiechina, brother-in-law of alleged kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, a.k.a Evans.

Justice Mohammed Idris, who gave the order, said Mr. Obiechina must be brought before him on October 12. The order followed a suit filed by Mr. Obiechina, urging the court to order his release from police custody.

The Nigerian mission in South Africa has confirmed the killing of a 25-year-old Nigerian, Mr Ibrahim Olalekan Badmus, a native of Lagos state.

5 people have been remanded in prison by a  Kano State Senior Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday  for allegedly kidnapping and stoning a 70-year-old man, Usman Danbuba, to death.
