Armed Robbers Cooked, Ate Before Robbing Victim


A group of armed bandits who invaded the home of a couple in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital during the yuletide have been arrested.

The suspects were paraded on Wednesday by the Kogi State police command. The suspects five in number were said to have invaded the house of the couple on the 28th December at about 2am while the couple and their children were fast asleep.

30 Shoemakers From Abia State Have Finally Arrived China For Training


The 30 trainees out of 100 shoemakers/ shoe cobblers sponsored by Abia state government – have landed safely in China. The trainees are in the Asian country for a 30 day automated shoe training programme in a bid to promote made in Aba products.
The shoemakers and some government officials boarded a direct flight to Chengdu in China on Tuesday 9th, January 2018, where they will be trained at Chengdu Zaproma Shoe Company.

Spanish morgue workers were given a major fright when a prisoner who had been declared dead after an apparent suicide attempt woke up just as they prepared to perform an autopsy, authorities said Wednesday.

According to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno, a 27 year-old spinster, Zainab Abdullahi, has been arrested over alleged theft of N12, 000 at a wedding ceremony in Maiduguri.

The Nation reports that the Commandant of the corps, Mr Ibrahim Abdullahi said on Wednesday that the suspect was arrested after she stole some valuables at the wedding venue.

Rapper Nas and his ex-wife, Kelis have reportedly reached an agreement in their custody dispute over their 8-year-old son, Knight.

According to court documents, the exes found a common ground when it came to sharing their son. Nas will have custody of Knight during the weekends, he will also have four full weekends throughout January, February, and March. Nas’ weekend visits will begin immediately after school on Fridays through Sunday night, or Monday night, if it’s a 3-day weekend.

83 migrants missing after boat mishap in Mediterranean sea


About 83 migrants have been declared missing after their makeshift boat sank in the Mediterranean off the coast of Libya, the country’s navy said late Tuesday.

The inflatable boat was carrying more than 100 people when it went down, according to Navy spokesman Ayoub Kacem, who said rescuers had saved just 17 people, including some women.

A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his wife at her employer’s house in Tshabalala suburb of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe before hanging himself on Tuesday afternoon, January 9.

Munyaradzi Moyo had allegedly viciously stabbed Nomsa Mvere, who according to reports, was in her mid 20s, twice. He then committed suicide in the presence of two children aged three and six around 2PM.

Traditional ruler, son on trial for alleged murder of EFCC informant


A traditional ruler, Nojimu Abioye, and his son, Wahab Abioye, were on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja High Court, for the alleged murder of one Alhaji Olatunji Rasak in 2015.

Rasaki was said to be an informant for the Economic and Financial Crime Commission.
The duo was charged with a two-count of conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
