Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has visited victims of armed robbery attack which took place in Lapai at IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna on Monday. Governor Sani-Bello who was joined by the new Commissioner of Police,Mr Paul Yakadi was conducted round by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Isa Umar.

European Investment Bank grants €100m credit line to Afreximbank


European Investment Bank (EIB), has granted the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), a line of credit agreement amounting to €100 million. The agreement took place last week in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on the sidelines of the African Union-European Union Summit.

The facility is aimed at financing trade-related long-term productive investments by private sector entities, or commercially operated public sector entities in Afreximbank member countries that are also signatories to the Cotonou Agreement.

Federal High Court orders arrest of Seplat chairman, Ambrose Orjiako


Monday, a Federal High Court in Lagos issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Chairman of Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc, Dr. Ambrose Orjiako, for failing to appear in court.

Justice Hadizat Shagari, who issued the bench warrant, had directed that Orjiako should appear before her on Monday in a contempt proceedings initiated against him by a firm, AOS Orwell Ltd.

Judge Denies Meek Mill Bail Again


Meek Mill just lost some momentum in his bid for freedom, because the judge has denied his request for bail.

According to docs, obtained by TMZ, Judge Genece Brinkley says Meek is a "flight risk" and "a danger to the community." In denying him bail, she questioned the validity of his clean drug tests, suggesting he might have used something called "Fast Flush" to cleanse his system.

Court Awards N10m Damages Over Death Of Pregnant Woman


Delta State High Court has awarded N10 million in damages against the Delta State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, the Hospitals Management Board (HMB), and two others over the death of a pregnant woman in November 2012.

The court ruled that the pregnant woman, Elo Joseph, died due to medical negligence.

According to Sahara Reporters, the defendants charged are the Delta State Hospital Management Board, Delta State Attorney General Peter Mrakpor, Dr. Nwabua, and Dr. Mike Ozoemena.

Sen. Arise kidnapped, police denies claim


Sen. Ayo Arise, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was kidnapped on Sunday, along Okene-Lokoja road, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
