Tottenham consider approach for Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino

Spurs line up move for Barca boss Martino

Tottenham are keen on hiring Gerardo Martino as their new manager if the Argentine leaves Barcelona at the end of the season.
Spurs, who are currently reviewing Tim Sherwood’s position after a run of poor results, are expected to look for a more experienced replacement in the summer.

And while Holland boss Louis van Gaal remains a firm target, along with Galatasaray’s Roberto Mancini, Martino has emerged as another option.
The 51-year-old is reportedly in talks with Barca over his future, while many in the Spanish media predict he will be sacked if he doesn’t agree to go at the end of the campaign.
Martino is said to already be planning for life away from the Nou Camp, with the Premier League his next ambition.
It’s understood that his agent has already flown to England to speak to possible clubs – and Tottenham would be especially interested in taking him on.
Until managing Barcelona, Martino had not coached a club outside of South America, but he is widely respected across Europe for his style of attractive football and ability to develop young players.
