Morocco defender Mehdi Benatia has arrived in Turin for a medical as he looks to complete a switch from Bayern Munich to Juventus, the Serie A champions said on Thursday.
The 29-year-old was signed by Pep Guardiola in a £21million as the Bavarians beat off competition from Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid for his signature.
But Carlo Ancelotti, who took charge of his first Bayern Munich training session on Monday following his move to Germany, would appear happy to let the former Clermont, Udinese and Roma defender to depart the Allianz Arena.
'Having touched down in Turin this morning... Medhi Benatia made his way immediately to J-Medical, where he is carrying out routine tests ahead of a proposed move to Juventus,' the Italian club said in a statement on Thursday.
Benatia would find competition for a regular starting berth in Turin every bit as difficult as he has done in Munich, with the Morocco international set to join Italy's experienced trio Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli.
Benatia was part of the Roma side that finished runners up to Juventus during the 2013-14 season, before winning two Bundesliga titles with Bayern.
The centre-back made 23 appearances for the German club last season.
