Antonio Conte aims fresh dig at Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham

Antonio Conte aims fresh dig at Manchester United and Arsenal

Chelsea won the Premier League this season despite having a weaker squad than that of Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City, according to Antonio Conte.

Winning 30 of their 38 league games throughout the campaign, the Blues clinched their second title in the space of three years earlier in the month.

Despite a host of clubs spending big last summer, Tottenham emerged as the only real title rival to Conte’s side, who eventually finished seven points clear.

And Conte has appeared to deliver a dig at Chelsea’s rivals by saying they won the league despite other teams possessing stronger squads.

‘Next season will be another tough season for all the teams,’ Conte told Chelsea’s official website.

‘Don’t forget this season we haven’t had a squad like United’s or City’s or Tottenham’s or Arsenal’s. This season we won the league and we start next season as champions.’
Conte added: ‘It’s very important to analyse very well our season. Our squad that we had this season reached an incredible target with players that performed 120%.

‘But we didn’t have injuries this season, we were very good with our work but also we were very lucky. You can have traumatic injuries and it doesn’t depend on the work. We must not forget that.’
