Atalanta’s Franck Kessie set to complete AC Milan move

Atalanta’s Franck Kessie set to complete AC Milan move

AC Milan are set to make Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie their second signing of the summer.
Kessie, 20, will undergo a medical on Tuesday and is reportedly set to sign a five-year contract soon after the arrival of Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal.
He scored six goals in 30 appearances for Atalanta last season, helping them to finish third in Serie A and qualify for the group stage of next season’s Europa League.
Milan, who will enter the competition in the third qualifying round, are set to stave off competition from city rivals Inter Milan and Juventus for his signature.
Ivory Coast international Kessie arrived at La Madonnina clinic to undergo a medical, with Sky Sport filming his arrival.
Milan’s new Chinese owners are overseeing their first transfer window since acquiring the club from Silvio Berlusconi, and have also been linked with moves for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata and Torino’s Andrea Belotti.
Ricardo Rodriguez is rumoured to be set for a move from Wolfsburg, while Lazio’s Lucas Biglia is another reported target.
Meanwhile, coach Vincenzo Montella has not ruled out the possibility of Gerard Deulofeu staying after his loan from Everton comes to an end.
The winger impressed during his five months in Milan and, should Barcelona not exercise their option to buy him back, Montella does not see why Milan cannot convince him to remain.
“He did extraordinary things for us here, lifting the level of our squad,” Montella told the club’s official website.
“He’s bid farewell to the team, but who knows whether he might be back? He had six great months with us.”
