A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death during an argument over housekeeping money. Abdullahi Garba, 30, was among 13 suspects paraded yesterday in Lokoja by the Kogi state police command.

Abdulahi Garuba, who claimed to have been married to his late wife, Falilat Saka, for the past 15 years, said they had been having arguments over money, with his wife always complaining whenever he gave her money to buy food.
“On the particular day, she requested for N4,000 but I only managed to give her N 2,000 which did not go down well with her. This led to arguments and in the process, I stabbed her and she died from the injury sustained in her neck region”Abdulahi told journalists.
The state deputy commissioner of police Yahaya Abubakar, who paraded the suspects, said that on the 30th May 2017, detectives from the Homicide section of Okehi police division in Okehi Local Government Area arrested one Mr Abdulahi Garuba of Ihima for the murder of his wife Mrs Falilat Saka Garuba.
The suspect will be arraigned as soon as the result of the post-mortem examination is received, the DCP said.
Other suspects were also paraded for varying offences ranging from armed robbery, kidnapping, carjacking, cattle rustling to possession of large quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
