Arsenal warned not to bother with Mandzukic bid

Arsenal warned not to bother with Mandzukic bid
Arsenal have been warned off making a summer move for Mario Mandzukic by Bayern Munich’s sporting director Matthias Sammer.
The Croatia striker is likely to lose his place in the first-team next season with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski imminent, and the Gunners have been strongly tipped to offer Mandzukic a passage out of Germany.

However, Sammer insists the 27-year-old remains a firm part of Pep Guardiola’s plans, and any offers for Mandzukic would fall on deaf ears.
‘Nobody even has to bother making an approach for Mandzukic,’ Sammer told Sky90.
‘He is incredibly important to Bayern. I always affectionately say that he plays like an animal.
‘It is simply amazing how much work he does for the team and how much running he does during a game.
‘They always try to provoke him because he really hurts his opponents with his work-rate.’
