I am Not An Ex-Convict – Ibinabo Fiberesima

The year was 2006, Ibinabo Fiberesima got herself in trouble when she was arrested for the murder of a doctor, Giwa Suraj.

She had spent three months and three days in prison then.

Clarion Chukwurah who is fighting her dirty recently had called her an ex-convict which is not going down well with Ibinabo.

She was convicted for a crime and she is not denying it but it, she said that she was convicted for a traffic offence.

She talked about the death of Giwa.

“It was involuntary. I didn’t go out of my way to kill someone. It was an accident and could have been me or anybody else…I am not an ex-convict.”

She is currently appealing because she believes that the judgment was wrong.

There are a lot of things that she wished to put an end to in the body which is the reason she has become an enemy to a lot of her colleagues.

She said that they called her an ex-convict and had charged her to court before and after the election but she had won both times.

September is by the corner and we would be witnessing another election of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
