Liverpool and Arsenal have been put on alert by reports from France which suggest Edinson Cavani is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
The striker’s agent revealed both Premier League clubs held talks with Cavani over the summer, before he elected to remain at the Parc des Princes.
However, French newspaper L’Equipe believe the Uruguayan international is unhappy with continuously being played out of position, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic being favoured in the central striker role by boss Laurent Blanc.
And Cavani is said to want to quit PSG at the end of the season.
The 27-year-old has scored two goals in his side’s first six games of the campaign, but he feels his tally is being hampered by being asked to play on the left of PSG’s attack, rather than down the middle.
However, with the Reds and Gunners having shelled out for new strikers in the form of Mario Balotelli and Danny Welbeck, respectively, over the summer, it remains to be seen whether either would be willing to rekindle an interest in Cavani.
