Officials of the Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Brigade yesterday impounded 35 rams, which they had taken from a makeshift selling point in Agege area of the state.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), about 20 KAI officials stormed the stall and took the rams, one after the other into their truck before they drove to their office, Alausa.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), about 20 KAI officials stormed the stall and took the rams, one after the other into their truck before they drove to their office, Alausa.
Speaking on the issue, the Public Relations Officer of the brigade, Mr Tunde Olusesi, told NAN that the rams were impounded by officials for constituting environmental nuisance.
Olusesi said the traders were putting them up for sale on a road setback, adding the site was not the right place to sell rams. He said: “The traders ignored earlier warnings not to sell rams in that place, which is a road setback.
That is not a ram market.
“We had no option but to enforce the state environmental law to serve as deterrent for others who might want to breach the law.”
