Eden Hazard has moved to stop constant rumours that he will leave Chelsea for Paris Saint-Germain, but admits he would consider a return to Lille in the future.
The Belgian winger has been with the West London club since 2012 but the French champions have constantly been linked with a move to bring him back to Ligue 1.
Hazard won last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year award but he insists he will not be heading to the French capital.
He told Canal+ : ‘When I left Lille, I wanted to leave France. I couldn’t join PSG. Every year I’m their priority, but I want to grow at Chelsea.
‘Never say never. But if I were to return to Ligue 1, it will be with Lille, the team that I support & still love.
The 23-year-old, who incredibly already has 50 caps for his country, perhaps offered PSG slight encouragement when he added: ‘Today, PSG is in same world as Chelsea, Real Madrid & Bayern. But, to be part of the best, they must win the Champions League.’
Hazard joined Chelsea when they were freshly-crowned champions of Europe, so perhaps if Laurent Blanc’s men could conquer the Champions League, the skilful winger would contemplate a move after all…
