APC, Amaechi plan to postpone Rivers poll till Buhari is sworn in – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has alleged plot by Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to either rig or postpone Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee of the PDP Campaign Organisation (PDPCO) in the state, Barrister Emma Okah, who addressed newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday, accused the ruling party of buying arms and ammunition for youths to wreck havoc in parts of the state.

Okah said, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has constantly drawn the attention of the public to the desperation of Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rig the April 11, 2015 governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
“The APC has been using Rivers State resources to defeat the will of the people of the state,” he said.
He alleged that APC was plotting to put on hold until the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari is sworn in on May 29, 2015.
Okah warned that any attempt to oppress Rivers electorate would be resisted.
He further cautioned the APC to promote peace in the state
