Bad news for Tottenham fans in the Mario Gotze race

It’s already been a pretty good week for Spurs.

After several weeks of speculation, Tottenham have boosted their striking options significantly, buying one of the hottest fresh-faced attackers in Europe: Dutch forward Vincent Janssen.

Yet, while Janssen is secured, it’s beginning to feel like a certainty that Mario Gotze will slip out of their grasps this off-season.

Bild deliver the bad news

Gotze’s future was again up for discussion in Bild on Thursday in an article focusing on the changing times at Borussia Dortmund.

For a while now, it’s been understood that the 24-year-old will likely leave Bayern Munich this summer, while Spurs had been named as a possible destination for the German World Cup winner.

However today Bild believe it’s a certainty that Gotze will return to former employers BVB instead.

Bild say the deal with “absolutely” go ahead, while Gotze could be back at Borussia Dortmund in “the next few days”.
