We want you to stay: Mourinho tells Mata he has Man United future

Juan Mata’s been told by Jose Mourinho that he does have a future at Manchester United but must accept the competition for places at Old Trafford is fierce.
The Spanish playmaker looked destined to leave the Theatre of Dreams this summer once Mourinho was announced as Louis van Gaal’s replacement.

The 53-year-old sold Mata to United in 2014 despite the Spaniard winning back-to-back player of the year awards at Chelsea before Mourinho’s arrival in 2013.
With the likes of Wayne Rooney, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Adnan Januzaj, Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial all competing for spots behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mata must accept he’s unlikely to command a regular spot.

However, according to the Sun, if Mata is willing to accept he’s part of a squad rotation policy, then Mourinho is happy to keep the former Valencia midfielder.
