The All Progressives Congress (APC)–led federal government remains the best option for the country, inspite of economic challenges facing Nigerians.
The national publicity secretary of APC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi stated this during an interview with newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Abdullahi opined that it would be unfair for Nigerians to blame the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the challenges confronting the country, noting that the administration came into office less than two years ago .
According to him, the three major campaign promises made by President Buhari which he has gradually started implementing and tackling are war against corruption, insurgency particularly Boko Haram and creation of employment opportunities .
He assured Nigerians that the present administration has started putting in place various social initiatives and palliative measure to reduce the hardship faced by the people .
Abdullahi who was a former minister of Youth Development and Sports kicked against calls for the scrapping of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) , describing the scheme as a good institution of national unity.
He, however, canvassed for the repositioning and rebranding of the scheme, saying that youths should not go and just mark time for one year ,rather the scheme should be expanded for challenges after service.
According to him, the most frustrating, confusing and traumatic period in the life of a student is when he or she completes the one year service scheme where he transits from the world of studentship and the world of responsibility and ends up unemployed.
