Joshua plans Whyte grudge rematch

Joshua plans Whyte grudge rematch

Anthony Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn took their team out for a celebratory meal to mark their famous win over Wladimir Klitschko and now wants a grudge rematch with Dillian Whyte.
No expense was spared as Joshua took his entire backroom team out for dinner at Smith & Wollensky restaurant in London.

Joshua looked in good spirits as he took selfies of his team outside the restaurant and showed the close relationship he has with everyone that has helped him become the biggest name in boxing.
The IBF and WBA heavyweight champion has already set his sights on his next opponent and is believed to have told Hearn he wants a showdown fight with Whyte, as Tyson Fury is awaiting the results of a UK Anti-Doping hearing.
Joshua has a score to settle after Whyte defeated him as an amateur and almost suffered another defeat before showing his class to knock him out in the seventh round of a title fight back in December 2015.
The heavyweight champion described that battle as a ‘street fight’ and will never forget the ring invasion that took place after he landed a late punch at the end of the first round.
There is certainly no love lost between the two boxers and boxing fans would be in for another treat if a deal can be finalised between the two parties.
But the Times reports that Joshua may have to wait until next year before getting his wish.
In the mean-time Joshua looks set for a re-match with Klitschko or will line up against Kubrat Pulev, who is the IBF’s mandatory contender with the fight expected to take place in the autumn.
Klitschko is set to take a month off before deciding if he will activate the clause in his contract with Joshua that enables him to have a re-match.
