Six die in Ogun auto crash

No fewer than six persons reportedly lost their lives in an auto crash, yesterday, at Sagamu inter-change area, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
An eyewitness disclosed that the victims included the male driver of a Nissan Quest SUV, with number plate FKJ 297 AJ, and his five female passengers.

It was further gathered that the Nissan Quest commercial vehicle was coming from Lagos end heading towards Abeokuta when the incident occurred.
The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, while confirming the incident, said the driver of the commercial vehicle was reportedly on high speed before the car rammed into a moving Iveco truck with number plates LND 902 XE, leading to the death of all the occupants of the vehicle.
He said: “The accident was caused by excessive speed by the driver of the Toyota Quest commercial vehicle, who rammed his car into a moving Iveco truck from behind, killing all the occupants.
“I cannot say where the vehicle was travelling to, but it was coming from Lagos.”
Akinbiyi said the corpses had been deposited at the mortuary of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State.
