Ghana footballer, Kingsley Sarfo admits having sex with underage girl in Sweden

22-year-old Ghanaian footballer, Kingsley Sarfo has been charged with rape, after having sex with an underage girl who was not eligible according to Swedish law.

The player who recently became Malmo’s most expensive signing, already has a pending case with the Swedish authorities after he was picked up by the Police for driving without a license. 


Ghanasoccer reports that in a closed court session Sunday at the legal centre in Malmo, ‘Malmo Tingsratt’, the Ghanaian confirmed he had penetrated the girl but only did so with her consent. He has been suspended by Malmo, until the case is heard and his innocence established.

If convicted, the player who was named in the Black Stars squad to play against Uganda in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier this month, will become the second Ghanaian player to go to jail in Sweden in recent times after former Heart of Lions midfielder, Kwame Bonsu who was sentenced to two years for sexual abuse against his ex-wife during his time at Gefle IF.
