The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, phoned police, and officers were able to trace the images to Charles’ computer. He was jailed for 12 months at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday after admitting to two charges of sending an offensive
Judge Murray Creed said during sentencing: ‘This was serious and deliberate conduct designed to cause considerable distress and anxiety no doubt as a result of the fact that the relationship had come to an end and you would not accept it.’ Charles had met his ex-girlfriend in Germany and he eventually helped her move to Britain. He had become angry after she broke off the romance after they had planned to get married.
Leanne Schroder, defending, added: ‘He did not handle the separation well and spent a lot of time on the internet. ‘This is how he came across the images that were then sent. ‘At the time he was drinking heavily.’ Charles was also banned from contacting his ex partner for five years.
