Police Inspector accuses ex-wife of adultery

It was drama galore yesterday at the  Abeokuta Grade I Customary Court sitting at Ake, Ogun State, when an Inspector of Police, Lawrence Abalaka, narrated his displeasure at how his former wife, Hannah

Feyisola, has continued to engage in adultery after the dissolution of their marriage and using her male friends to threaten his life In turn, Feyisola yesterday approached the customary court for divorce three years after it had answered Abalaka’s prayer to end the marriage.

The duo, our correspondent gathered, had been legally separated in 2014 when Abalaka approached the Grade II of the customary court to seek the end of the eight- year marriage to Feyisola.

The marriage had been blessed with four children. By the 2014 judgement, which was coincidentally given by the same duo of court president Chief O.O. Akande and his assistant, Mrs. S.A Ogunsola both of whom are now handling cases at the Grade I court before which Abalaka and Feyisola appeared yesterday, the husband’s prayer to separate from his wife was answered.

Feyisola had failed to appear before the court then despite being served the summons twice and also failed to respond to calls, thus, according to the court, “treating government documents with levity.”

Chief Akande had consequently ruled that the court had no option than to separate the partners “to avoid loss of life and property.”

The judgement, dated November 11, 2014, had stated, “The court, today, separates their friendship to avoid bloodshed. Parties are free to marry anybody of their choice.”
