Nigerians tired of APC, eagerly waiting for PDP - Jerry Gana

Jerry Gana, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said Nigerians are tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Gana, Nigerians are “eagerly waiting” for the PDP, a former ruling party, to get its act together ahead of the 2019 general election.
Gana said this on Monday during a consultative meeting between Tunde Adeniran, an aspirant for the PDP chairmanship position, and the party’s north-west delegates.
“Nigerians are tired of the APC and they are eagerly waiting for us (PDP) to put our house in order,” he said.
“Agreed we have made mistakes during our 16 years of reign in government but we have learned our lessons and we are telling Nigerians that we are sorry.”
Championing the cause of Adeniran, the former information minister said: “We must restore the confidence of people by electing credible people, people who have integrity, people that will be bold enough to stand up against the APC and not people that would be harassed by the EFCC.”

WHO GAINS FROM APC’S LOSS?

The APC recently lost the membership of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, who was one of its top chieftains.
Although Abubakar is yet to announce his next move, he held a series of meetings with leaders of the PDP during the weekend.
In an interview he granted to the Voice of America in September, he said Buhari’s government had abandoned him.
“Soon after the formation of government, I was side-lined,” Abubakar had said.
On Monday, pictures of vehicles branded with his image, and 2019 presidential campaign captions, flooded the internet.
Atiku’s media team has descrbed the pictures as fake, saying they originated from a phoney Twitter account.
