The mum-of-one was on her way to work on Monday morning, with the sun low in the sky, when she rounded a bend and collided head on with the Transit van.
Photos taken at the scene show the impact damage to the front of her white £20,000 Mercedes CLA.
Fire and ambulance crew called to the scene told her that it was a 'miracle' she did not suffer more serious injuries.
Stacey was taken to hospital for a check up but walked away with nothing worse than bruising to her ribs.
"She realises she's lucky to be alive," said a source.
“The fire service told her people don't walk away from a crash like that. She was driving sensibly at low speed when it happened.
If she'd been going any faster she may not have lived to tell the tale. The air bags went off and there was a puff of white smoke on impact.
"She was in shock and traumatised by the incident. She is recovering but she knows it was a very lucky escape."
Former office worker Stacey, 27, now lives in Wynyard Hall, Co Durham with her two-year-old daughter Ayla by Johnson.
