If you think traffic in Lagos is bad, wait till you hear of the one that happened in China on February 21.

Due to extremely heavy fog causing low visibility on Wednesday night, ferry services on the Qiongzhou Strait were canceled. This meant that the thousands of cars, coaches, buses and lorries that needed to use the service were stuck. And the number of people waiting in or outside of the three Haikou ports just built up until there was heavy traffic.

Over 11,000 cars are reported to have been stuck in the traffic that lasted from night till the next day. An estimated 100,000 commuters were forced to spend the night on the road. The ferry services began working a day after but the backlog of vehicles took so long to get sorted. There were still some delays on the road as at last night.
