There Was No Protest At APC Headquarters - Group Warns Nigerians To Beware Of Fake News

The national president of APC frontiers for change group, (AFCG) Mallam Mohammed Rabiu has warned the general public to beware of fake news in the social media and online platforms.

Speaking at the APC Secretariat today, Mallam Rabiu  drew the attention of the public to a photograph containing a group of protesters making rounds on social media and other online platforms that there was a protest against the Oyegun-led APC leadership at the National Secretariat of the party.



Mallam Rabiu said : “This is not true, no protest took place at the National Secretariat today, this is a calculated attempt by  some politicians within the party who have lost political relevance in all ramifications  and have resorted to other desperate measures to see that they destabilized the good work that have been done by the National working committee of the APC led by the able chairman, his Excellency Dr. John Odigie-Onyegun through the sponsoring and promotion of fake news on protest that never took place in the national headquarters of the APC as portrayed in the online medium”.

He added that the APC has restored the confidence that the Nigerian nation lost during the sixteen years rule of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the chairman and his team have worked very hard to see that the party becomes a party to beat in any election conducted in the country today. 

“Recently there have been clamor from mischief makers to undermine the office of the chairman and they have employed so many strategies including posting fake news on social media on some online platforms misinforming people that there have been protest in the APC national Head Quarters in Abuja.

"I can authoritatively tell Nigerians that nothing of such ever happened. If they say that there has been protest at the APC National office, who received the protesters? Where did they come from and whose interest are they protecting? These are questions that the online report did not answer.  And after a thorough investigation into this matter, we discovered that no protest was organized against the leadership of APC at the party secretariat”.

He further reaffirmed that “Our people have made up their mind to stand with the National Chairman and they are not going back because you don’t have to change a winning team because of the selfish motive of a single individual who does not have the interest of the party or the nation at heart.

The Oyegun led NWC has performed creditably well and the people are standing tall behind their amiable chairman, propelling him to steer the party to greater heights especially as the 2019 general election approaches”.

"No amount of propaganda, renting of crowd, fake news on social media that can stop the good work that the National Chairman has been doing in the interest of the party and Nigeria at large.

All well-meaning Nigerians and lovers of our darling party the APC must resist any attempt by unscrupulous and expired politicians to undermine our party and the office of the national chairman. He added.
