Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has hinted that he will be banking on experienced players like John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and Elderson Echiejile at this year’s World Cup in Russia.
Echiejile moved to second division Belgium side Cercle Brugge in January in search of regular football, after struggling to get sufficient minutes at Turkish side Sivasspor.

The emergence of Chelsea loanee Ola Aina and Brian Idowu of Amkar Perm, made many to cast doubts over the left-back’s future in the Nigeria national team.
But Rohr has made it clear that experience counts for something.
“You have to respect what the former players have done in the past but be careful that you don’t try to bring them back because people think so.
“We have big experience in captain [John] Mikel Obi, Victor Moses and our left back Elderson who is now playing in Belgium,” he told journalists.
