Pastor’s Daughter Killed In Kano As Youths Set Baptist Church Ablaze


Unidentified arsonists, the Baptist Church at Gidan Maso village in Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State has been set ablaze and the residence of the Pastor, Rev Habila Garba, burnt by irate youths.

During the incident which happened on April 1 at about 7:30 pm, one of the Pastor’s daughters died of suffocation and most parts of the house destroyed as a result of the fire.

Kano INEC Commissioner, family die in mysterious fire incident

Aftermath of the presidential elections last weekend, Kano State's Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Minkaila has been killed in a mysterious fire outbreak.
The deceased was burnt along with his wife and two children, in a fire outbreak fire, which occurred Thursday night.

Mob Lynch Suspected Suicide Bomber In Kano


A suspected suicide bomber was lynched by mob at Ungwa Uku bus station in Kano metropolis Wednesday.
The middle aged suspect was reported to have refused screening at a local check point situated at the entrance of the bus station manned by officials of National Union of Road Transport Workers.

Mother kills three-day old baby in Kano

A newly-wedded couple, Aminu Mustapha and Faiza Haruna in Rijiyar Lemo in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State, has been arrested by the Hisbah office for strangling their three-day-old baby.
the couple who got married two months ago have been involved in pre-marital sex which led to the 17 year old bride taking in before her marriage which is an Abomination in Sharia Law, Weekly Trust reports.

Ado Bayero’s Sons Yet To Visit New Emir Of Kano

As prominent emirate council officials continue paying homage to the new emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, some top council officials were yet to visit him as at yesterday.

Our correspondents observed that the Galadiman Kano, Tijjani Hashim and four sons of the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Chiroma, Sunusi Lamido Ado, Alhaji Aminu Ado, Bello Ado Bayero and Nasiru Ado Bayero were yet to pay homage yesterday.

Sanusi Enters Palace To Ascend The Throne As Emir Of Kano


The new Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has finally entered into the Emir palace to begin his ascension to the throne as the Emir of Kano.

Sanusi arrived the palace lateafternoon on Friday from the Kano government house that had served as his abode.

Police Ordered To Arrest Sanusi, New Emir Of Kano, For “Fraud”

The Nigerian police have been ordered to arrest the newly-crowned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on fraud-related charges stemming from his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

According to reliable sources at the Presidency in Abuja, the team of policemen at the Emir’s palace in Kano received the order from the Nigeria police headquarters to place Mr. Sanusi under arrest if he leaves the Kano Governor’s lodge.

Newly crowned Emir of Kano, northwest Nigeria, Sarki Lamido Sanusi Lamido is operating from a temporary office in Government House, 24 hours after he was turbaned and issued certificate of appointment by Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso as protesters occupy the Emir’s palace.

Protests in Kano as Sanusi becomes Emir

Protests broke out in parts of Kano on Sunday shortly after a former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Lamido Sanusi was   named the new Emir of Kano.
Sanusi, who by his appointment becomes the 14th Emir of Kano, takes over from Ado Ibrahim,who died on Friday.

Nigerian Army Claims Discovery Of Facility For Rocket Launchers In Kano

 

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says it has uncovered a rocket launcher production facility in Kano State.
 
According to Director of Defence Information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, the facility was discovered at Dorayi District in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state, after a cordon-and-search exercise.
