Son of former Senegal president, Karim Wade sentenced to 6 years imprisonment for corruption

Karim Wade, the flamboyant son of former Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade, has been sentenced to six years in prison for financial impropriety and corruption.

46 year old Karim who was nicknamed "Minister of Heaven and Earth" during his tenure as Minister was found guilty of "illicit enrichment".

Woman caught trying to smuggle marijuana into Kirikiri prison

A female caterer in Lagos has gotten into trouble with the law after she was caught trying to smuggle illicit drugs into a prison.

35-year-old Oyinyechi Ezirim is said to have made an attempt to sneak marijuana (cannabis sativa) into the Kirikiri prison where her boyfriend was being held.

Glenn Ford, a Louisiana man who spent nearly three decades on death row for a 1983 murder, walked free Tuesday from the maximum security prison at Angola after a District Court judge vacated his murder conviction and ordered his release. Omar Villafranca reports.
