Indonesia protests Saudi’s beheading of its citizen but will execute Nigerian, others


Jakarta summoned the Saudi Arabian ambassador Wednesday to protest the beheading of an Indonesian domestic worker and complain that her family and consular staff were not given prior notice of the execution.
Saudi authorities said Siti Zainab was executed Tuesday in the Muslim holy city of Medina after being convicted of stabbing and beating Saudi woman Noura al-Morobei to death in 1999.

Saudi king orders funds to help Palestinian Red Crescent


Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered on Sunday immediate assistance to the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza worth more than $50 million, according to the kingdom’s state run news agency.
Finance Minister Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, said the king had issued a directive to provide the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza with 200 million Saudi Riyals.

Saudi Arabia chops off Nigerian man's hand after being convicted of theft

 
A man had his hand chopped off after allegedly getting caught stealing, according to press reports.

Saudi Arabian authorities on Wednesday, cut off the hand of a Nigerian man convicted of theft, in accordance with the strict application of Islamic sharia law throughout the kingdom, the interior ministry said.
