Mom Left Kids In Cold Car To Get Makeup Done



A mother is accused of leaving her two children in a cold car while she got her makeup done at a mall in Charles County. Regina Marie Coleman is now charged with child neglect in the incident.Regina Marie Coleman is now charged with child neglect in the incident.Sheriff's office authorities say someone called police from the 11200 block of Mall Circle on Tuesday at 8:05 p.m. to report hearing children crying inside a Cadillac Escalade in the parking lot.

The person told police they could not see much because the car windows were heavily tinted.When officers arrived they found a six-year-old girl and three-year-old girl wearing coats inside the car. Authorities say the temperature was approximately 16 degrees, so officers placed the girls in their police cars to keep them warm.Officers were able to find out the name of their mother and went into the mall to look for her.

 After an announcement was made at the department store, the mother came out and talked to officers.Authorities say that the 28-year-old mother told officers she had been inside for 10 minutes looking for her wallet but officers noticed inconsistencies in her story and continued to investigate. They later found out she had been in the store for more than 90 minutes, sitting at a makeup counter to get her makeup done. Officers also found her wallet inside her purse.

Coleman was then arrested and charged.The girls have been turned over to relatives, say authorities.
