Battle lines drawn as Arsenal chase Wolfsburg’s Julian Draxler

German paper Bild have a short article on Wednesday looking at Wolfsburg.

Klaus Allofs, the sporting director at the Bundesliga club, has provided a short quote regarding how the club intend to fight off interest from big clubs for their star players.

The players thought to be in demand this summer are Julian Draxler, Luiz Gustavo,Ricardo Rodriguez and Vieirinha.

Speak to Bild, Allofs somewhat cryptically said:

Clearly we have a lot to talk about. There were a few issues that have emerged in the past.

Battle lines drawn for Draxler

Bild go on to confirm that Arsenal are pursing Julian Draxler this season.

The German international forward is only thought to be available if the Gunners post a €60 million offer with Wolfsburg.

Interesting, Bild’s article confirms reports from Jan Aage Fjortoft this week, who also said Arsenal could land Draxler for €60 million.

For the record, 22-year-old Draxler is under contract at Wolfsburg until 2020.
